The RCR-CX Range

The RCR-CX makes zero compromises. Engineered with an obsession for explosive speed, this frame brings World Tour-level carbon engineering to the mud, sand, and off-camber hairpins of cyclocross. It delivers the category's most radical edge: the power to take the holeshot, attack through technical chicanes, and break away alone at the front where the racing line is yours.

Game over for the competition

The RCR-CX SRAM Force AXS brings World Tour aero and carbon tech straight to the CX grid. Built around a Super High-Modulus UCI-approved carbon frame, it features targeted mud clearance and a shoulder-optimized top tube to crush 45-minute all-out efforts without slowing down.

  • UCI-approved carbon frame and fork
  • Generous clearance at seatstays and chainstays for rapid mud shedding
  • Sculpted top tube and head tube optimized for smooth, quick shoulder carries
  • SRAM Force AXS 1x12 wireless electronic shifting

A Closer Look at the Frame

The RCR-CX frame weight (size M, painted): 2.13 lbs (966 g)
RCR-CX fork weight (painted): 0.94 lbs (425 g)
Tire clearance: Up to 40 mm (spec'd with 33 mm CX tires)

Never clamp a carbon frame (top tube, seat tube, down tube) in a work stand or bike rack—carbon is rigid but vulnerable to compression.

Cockpit

The RCR-CX cockpit is designed for precise handling and easy maintenance on tight, twisty courses, with an integrated headset that ensures smooth steering.

XS: 70 mm
S: 80 mm
M: 90 mm
L: 100 mm
XL: 110 mm

Paired with the VR x Deda carbon handlebar, it delivers aerodynamic efficiency, direct control, and dampens trail chatter.
Handlebar widths (measured center to center):

XS/S: 400 mm
M/L/XL: 420 mm

SRAM Force AXS Groupset

The RCR-CX features the SRAM Force AXS 1x12 wireless electronic groupset for ultra-precise, lightning-fast shifting—even under heavy load in thick mud. The electronic drivetrain runs on a removable external battery on the rear derailleur, with full customization and ride data available via the SRAM Connect app.

  • Shifters: SRAM Force AXS E1
  • Rear derailleur: SRAM Force AXS E1
  • Cassette: SRAM Force 12-speed, 10-36T
  • Crankset: SRAM Force 1x, 42T
  • Chain: SRAM Force 12-speed
  • Crank length by size:

    XS: 165 mm
    S: 170 mm
    M: 172.5 mm
    L/XL: 175 mm

Drivetrain Maintenance

Regular maintenance is key, especially in wet, muddy CX conditions. Check chain wear often using a chain wear indicator, and wash grit off the pulleys and cassette after every race. A well-maintained drivetrain lasts longer and performs better.

Drivetrain Lifespan

When purchasing a bike, consider the long-term cost of drivetrain maintenance. Lifespan varies based on care and riding conditions, but here are general estimates:

Chain lifespan: ~3,100 miles (5,000 km)
Cassette lifespan: ~6,200–7,500 miles (10,000–12,000 km)

A neglected chain can skip, causing premature wear or even damage to your frame. Regular maintenance is key.

Disc Brakes

The SRAM Force hydraulic disc brakes deliver powerful, progressive braking for optimal late-corner control. Featuring 160 mm rotors front and rear, they provide consistent stopping power through mud, water, and sand.

Bedding-In Process:

To maximize braking efficiency, gradually brake 20 times at low speed (12 mph / 20 km/h), then repeat at 18 mph (30 km/h). Be sure to bed in both brakes to enhance friction between the pads and rotors.

Hydraulic Brake Maintenance

Hydraulic brakes operate within a closed system, with a hose maintaining the seal between the brake lever and caliper.
Over time, a slight loss of pressure is normal, which can reduce braking efficiency. If your brake lever feels too soft or pulls all the way to the handlebar, it's time to bleed the system. This process requires specialized tools and expertise.

Warning and Adjustment

Never squeeze the brakes without a wheel installed—this can cause the brake pads to stick together.

If the rotor rubs against the pads, follow these steps to realign the caliper:

  1. Loosen the brake caliper bolts.
  2. Squeeze the brake lever firmly.
  3. While holding the brake, tighten the caliper bolts.

If the issue persists, visit your nearest bike shop for further adjustment.

Reynolds AR41 Carbon Wheels

The Reynolds AR41 Tubeless Carbon wheelset features a 40 mm deep profile cut for aero efficiency, a 21 mm internal rim width, and a Reynolds TR3 hub with ultra-fast 10° engagement for instant power transfer when accelerating out of turns.

Vittoria Terreno Mix CX 33mm Tires

Engineered for all-conditions grip and speed on race day. Whether navigating loose soil, slick turf, or thick mud, the 120 TPI casing delivers superior traction, supple compliance, and low rolling resistance.

  • Size: 700x33c
  • Casing: 120 TPI Nylon
  • Features: Tubeless Ready

Tubeless Setup

We strongly recommend running your tires tubeless with sealant for increased comfort, lower operating pressures, and maximum puncture protection on aggressive courses. (Note: Liquid sealant is required prior to first use).

Position

The RCR-CX features a lightweight Van Rysel Carbon 27.2 mm seatpost paired with the race-proven Fizik Antares saddle for optimal stability and power output.

Seat Post Length by Size:

  • XS: 250 mm
  • S/M/L: 350 mm
  • XL: 400 mm

Pedals

Sold without pedals.

Which Size?

Refer to the bike frame geometry table for precise sizing.

  • Smaller size: More responsive and agile
  • Larger size: Better comfort for long distances

If you're between sizes, choose based on your riding style and fit preference. For best results, we recommend a professional bike fit.
